Learning that inspires change.
The Transracial Parenting Initiative training recognizes and respects the work of many agencies who ensure service provision is carried out within an Anti-Oppressive Framework. This training in no way implies that agencies should not strive to keep children with their birth families whenever possible and in the child’s best interest; seek kin placements or racial/cultural matches. Rather, it acknowledges the efforts put forth by agencies to recruit racially/culturally diverse applicants and offers a realistic alternative to placements recognizing the challenges that exist therein.
This education program has been designed to complement and build on P.R.I.D.E training, delving deeper into the more complex issues of transracial parenting through an anti-oppressive perspective.
